It was such a joy when I received that phone call from Darren last night.  And then it was like after-shock when Robin, John, Rick, and Yeh Cherng called shortly after.  I am still amazed that somehow we are connected again after 52 years!  We must have had such a wonderful time when we were together as young kids, lots of memory came back to my mind while enjoying the great collection at BSFS website.

I remember our classroom masters (there were only two who got selected all the time and the rest of us have never had a chance), and I remember our basketball heroes, and those who always snatched top spots in exams and who were teacher Wu’s favorites.

There were so much fun together even when we had such long school days and enrichment classes plus never ending homework and exams.  After graduating from 北師附小, I continued my learning journey at 大安国中, and it’s 師大附中after that.  I spent four years of my colledge life in 成功大學礦冶系 before going to military service.  I worked for an Australian company for a year then got married to my wife奚幼非 in 1975 before going to South Dakota for graduate study.  I worked in steel-making industries for 7 years before finding a warm spot in sunny Phoenix.  I have been working for Honeywell Aerospace ever since and finally retired a week ago.  I plan to devide my time between U.S. and Taiwan to catch up what I have been missing in life.

Word document reflects our generation for you to enjoy

I have been playing my favorite song “在我們小的時候”.  It has become a more beautiful song since talking to you.  Let’s stay connected.  I just can’t wait to see you guys in our next gathering!

 2014-1-8 From 范欽偉:

Hi Robin,

You are really doing a good job. 沈兆北 was my neighbor for 16 or 17 years, I just emailed him and provided him my contact information.

I stayed at his sister's house when I first came to the US, he was there too. One day his sister drove us to a train station and point to us where to buy train tickets, as we were going to Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  We each bought a ticket at a parking permit dispenser machine. That day I learned an English vocabulary,  Dash Board. Lots of fun.

Thank you for the hard work.

Chin-Wei
